  1. To install the Microsoft Viewers, please
  2. review the following instructions.
  3.  
  4. Excel
  5.  
  6. Location: \3RDPARTY\VIEWERS\MS\EXCEL\
  7.  
  8. There are 4 versions:
  9.  
  10. US English version    XLVWRUS.EXE
  11. German version        XLVWRGER.EXE
  12. French version        XLVWRFR.EXE
  13. Brazil version        XLVWRBRZ.EXE
  14.  
  15. 1. Installation of Excel Viewer is designed to take place
  16. from within Microsoft Windows. If Windows is not running,
  17. please start it before continuing.
  18.  
  19. 2. Make sure to close all applications first and make sure you
  20. are not running any utilities or virus protection before
  21. proceeding. 
  22.  
  23. 3. If you have the Excel Viewer self-extracting archive, run it
  24. to extract the setup files and automatically start Setup.
  25.  
  26. 4. You can now select a folder in which to install the Excel
  27. Viewer. The default folder location for the Excel Viewer is
  28. C:\PROGRAM FILES\XLVIEW. NOTE: Do not install Excel Viewer in
  29. the same directory as Excel. Doing so will cause file conflicts. 
  30.  
  31. 5. Click the "Installation" button to install the Excel Viewer. 
  32.  
  33. 6. If Excel Viewer Setup detects Excel for Windows (version 5.0
  34. or later) on your system, it will prompt you to determine which
  35. application should open Excel documents by default. For example,
  36. the 'default' application is used to open files with *.XLS,
  37. *.XLT, *.XLM, or *.XLC file extensions when they are
  38. double-clicked in the Windows 95 shell. 
  39.  
  40. - Choosing "Open with Excel" means that Excel for Windows will
  41. be used by default to open Excel files.
  42. - Choosing "Open with Viewer" means that Excel Viewer will be
  43. used by default to open Excel files. NOTE: If you choose this
  44. option, you must run the Excel for Windows Setup program to
  45. restore Excel for Windows as the default viewer of Excel
  46. documents.

  48. 1.To run Excel Viewer, click the Start button on the Windows 95
  49. Taskbar and then point to Programs and choose Microsoft Excel
  50. Viewer. Alternatively, you can run Excel Viewer by
  51. double-clicking on the XLVIEW.EXE file in your
  52. \PROGRAM FILES\XLVIEW folder.

  61. 1.  Copy the file to a temporary directory and run.
  62. 2.  Follow all directions.

  71. 1.  Copy the file into an empty directory.  WRD6VIEW.EXE is a
  72. compressed, self-extracting file.  
  73. 2.  Run it to extract the files it contains.
  74. 3.  Read the INSTALL.TXT, and follow the directions.
